Parkview Regional Hospital Recognized with 2025 Performance Leadership Awards by The Chartis Center for Rural Health

Parkview Regional Hospital Recognized with 2025 Performance Leadership Awards by The Chartis Center for Rural Health

Mexia, TX – As part of National Rural Health Day in late November, Parkview Regional Hospital announced that it has earned two 2025 Performance Leadership Awards for excellence in Quality and in Patient Perspective. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.

Parkview Regional was one of only eight hospitals in Texas to earn both of these honors from Chartis.

“Parkview Regional is thrilled to earn 2025 Performance Leadership Awards from Chartis, a healthcare consultant with extensive expertise in rural hospitals,” said Doug Holzbog, Market CEO for Parkview Regional. “Performing in the top quartile in two of the three areas assessed –  quality and patient experience – is a testament to our team and their commitment to serving those in the Mexia area who come to us for their healthcare needs.”

“This is an exciting recognition for our hospital and team and our ongoing efforts to deliver the high-quality care our community deserves,” said Tim O’Neal, Chief Operating Officer at Parkview. “These Chartis measures show that we are excelling at what a community hospital strives to achieve – delivering exceptional care and patient experiences.”

The Performance Leadership Awards program is based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

“The areas of quality, outcomes, and patient perspective are cornerstones of healthcare delivery across rural America, and this year’s Performance Leadership Award recipients are establishing a standard of excellence for their rural peers to follow,” said Michael Topchik, Executive Director, Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We are delighted to shine a spotlight on such strong performance and honor the achievement of these hospitals on National Rural Health Day.”
