The report highlights the hospital’s continued impact on the health and economic vitality of the Mexia area.
MEXIA, Texas (June 3, 2026) – Parkview Regional Hospital has released its 2025 Community Benefit Report, a compilation of data detailing the many ways the hospital continues to support the health, well-being, and economic strength of Mexia and the surrounding Central Texas communities.
“As this report details, Parkview Regional continues to positively impact the health of the broader community while it pursues its mission of advancing the health of those who come to us in their time of need, whether that’s an emergency, screening, or routine checkup,” said Doug Holzbog, Market CEO for Parkview Regional Hospital. “In 2025, we invested in our facility, recruited new providers, and even earned national recognition from Chartis for quality and patient experience. At the same time, we continued contributing to the vitality of the region as a large taxpayer, employer, and provider of charitable and uncompensated healthcare services.”
Expanding Services and Investing in Care
In 2025, Parkview Regional welcomed four affiliated providers in Family Medicine, Orthopedics, and Urology. The hospital also made more than $1 million in capital improvements, including a new 3D mammography system, a new ultrasound system, and a new fire alarm system – investments that enhance patient care and safety.
Supporting Patients and Strengthening the Local Economy
Parkview provided more than $14 million in charitable and uncompensated care last year, underscoring its commitment to ensuring access to healthcare for all, regardless of ability to pay.
The hospital also invested in its workforce, distributing more than $9 million in salaries, wages, and benefits to its 116 employees. More than $50,000 was dedicated to professional development and tuition assistance to support ongoing learning and improved clinical skills.
A Strong Community Partner
Beyond its clinical services, Parkview contributed nearly $2 million in provider, payroll, property, and sales taxes in 2025 – reinforcing its role as a responsible community partner and economic driver.
The hospital also supported numerous local organizations and events, including Faith Academy, Fairfield Booster Club, Freestone County Go Texan, Lone Star Soccer Association, Mexia Chamber of Commerce, Mexia Lions Club, Mexia Rotary Club, Navarro College, and the Wiggy Thump Music Festival (Youth Livestock Association), among others.
