Mexia, Texas (May 3, 2020) – Parkview Regional Hospital (PRH) today announced that Robert Rupp has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO), effective May 4, 2020. He replaces Bob Honeycutt who has transitioned to another hospital within the LifePoint Health network. Rupp will also assume the role of CEO of Ennis Regional Medical Center (ERMC) located in Ennis, Texas.
“Robert is a dedicated healthcare leader with a proven track record of helping hospitals navigate changing environments and succeed,” said Robert Wampler, Mountain Division president of LifePoint Health, of which both PRH and ERMC are a part. “He has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality care, to being a great community partner and to being an advocate for hospital employees and clinicians, and we are confident he is the right person to lead these facilities into the future.”
A creative and disciplined problem solver, Rupp has noted successes in building cultures around quality, safety and service excellence as well as achievements in fiscal management and physician recruitment. He joins PRH from INTEGRIS Grove Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma, where he served as president from 2017-2019. From 1984-2004, Rupp served in the United States Air Force, completing his duty in personnel management as a First Sergeant.
“We are excited to welcome Robert to Central Texas,” said John Stubbs, chair of the PRH board of trustees. “He has excellent experience leading hospitals in diverse communities, and his focus on quality, community and fostering great workplaces mirrors our own. We are eager to begin working with him to explore new ways that our hospital can make our community healthier.”
Rupp holds a Master of Business Administration from Webster University in San Antonio, Texas, and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University in San Antonio, Texas. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
“I look forward to joining the talented team at Parkview Regional Hospital and am excited about what we will achieve together,” said Rupp. “There is so much terrific work already underway, and I have no doubt we will continue to build on the hospital’s many successes and set the stage for growth in the months and years ahead.”
