Parkview Awards Prestigious Mercy Award
May 3, 2018
Mexia, TX – Parkview Regional Hospital recently announced that Kathie Finley, LVN has been recognized as the hospital’s 2018 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program established in 2002 to honor the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.
“At Parkview Regional Hospital, we share LifePoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees both on and off the job,” said Bob Honeycutt, CEO of Parkview Regional Hospital. “We are extremely proud to recognize Kathie Finley for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. Kathie goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”
Kathie was recognized for her efforts as a nurse in the Parkview Rural Health Clinic, providing quality care to patients. Kathie was also recognized for outstanding volunteer work outside the walls of Parkview, providing disaster relief during Hurricane Harvey, for her work with missionary projects for the medically underserved in Haiti, and various other projects for those in need. Some of the projects that Kathie is involved with are building wheelchair ramps for those in wheelchairs, collecting coats during the winter months to give to individuals who otherwise might not have a coat, and raising funds to provide Christmas gifts to children in need during the Christmas season.
Each hospital winner, including Kathie Finley, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2018 company-wide Mercy Award. The company-wide winner will be announced this summer and will be honored at a special celebration in Nashville, Tennessee in August, along with all other hospital winners.
