Upon completing his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Newman attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Ft. Worth. He recently completed his residency in family medicine at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Dr. Newman and his wife, Teresa, have two children, Blake and Claire. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, scuba diving, travel and church activities.

Dr. Redding holds dual undergraduate degrees in biology and psychology, which she earned at Texas A & M University. She completed her master’s degree in clinical psychology at the University of Houston. Upon graduation, she entered the U.S. Army. While in the Army, she attended medical school and received her degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD.
She completed a number of medical courses while in the Army, including combat casualty, flight surgeon, medical management of chemical and biological casualties and combat burn life support.
Dr. Redding received an Honorable Discharge as a Major after 14 years in the military, but not before serving posts in South Korea and Iraq.

Dr. Phillip Jones joins the Parkview Specialty Clinic in May 2008. A board certified general surgeon with 25 years’ experience, Dr. Jones obtained his medical degree from Texas A&M University. He completed his residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston. He served in the U.S. Air Force as the Chief of Surgical Services for four years. Dr. Jones comes to Parkview most recently from Corsicana, where he specialized in general and laparoscopic surgery. He is a Fellow if the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, and a member of the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Jones is married and has three daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys chess, tennis, reading and running.

Dr. Chin is an Internal Medicine physician who received his medical training at the Louisiana State University Medical Center and the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Chin began his affiliation with Parkview in 1999 as a doctor in the Emergency Room. Dr. Guthrie is a native Central Texan and is a Board-Certified foot surgeon. He attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, and is a graduate of the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Guthrie has been in practice over 50 years and was one of the original staff doctors at Mexia General Hospital (now Parkview Regional Hospital). In 1978, he closed his private practice in Waco to serve as the Director of the Surgical Residency Program at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Waco and as an Associate Clinical Professor at the Inversity of Texas Medical School, San Antonio. In 1990, Dr. Guthrie returned to private practice in Mexia. In addition to general foot care, Dr. Guthrie specializes in diabetic foot and wound care and surgery. His office is in the Parkview Clinic, located at 408 E. Tyler St.

Dr. Nwafor (pronounced "Wafor") is a family-oriented, Christian urologic surgeon. Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Nwafor emigrated to the U.S. almost 20 years ago. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Kean College of New Jersey and went to medical school at the New York Medical College. Dr. Nwafor served as a urologic surgeon while in the Air Force at Darnell Army Hospital in Fort Hood and later at King's Daughters Clinic in Temple. Dr. Nwafor's practice offers the vast spectrum of services, including prostate screening, treatment of prostate cancer, urinary incontinence, voiding problems, kidney stones, infertility treatment, and vasectomies. He has been in Mexia since September 2000. He is board certified in adult and pediatric urology. Dr. Nwafor is married to Chichi and they have four children.
